Youth Council Application Form.

Thank you for your interest in the Justice for My Sister's Youth Council! As a member of the Youth Council, you will be part of the JFMS community and be a key stakeholder in pro of our students and community.

Prior to applying, please read the description of the roles and responsibilities for being a part of the Youth Council below. We welcome the possibility of inviting you onto our leadership team!

Requirements:

  • Attend monthly meetings where youth leaders bring forth pitches for ways to expand JFMS community recognition and impact.

  • Participate in additional planned activities online and in person.

  • Be an active member of the Youth Council committees.

  • Collaborate on the JFMS hiring process, including application review and sitting in interviews.

  • Participate in trauma-informed facilitation training and other leadership development opportunities.

  • Be between 16 and 24 years old. For applicants under 18 years old, you should have signed consent from your parents or caregivers.

  • Be a graduate of one of Justice for My Sister's programs.

Term Length: The required term length for Youth Council Members is one year. Once your first term has come to a close, we will invite you to re-enroll to serve a second consecutive term of an additional year (two years total).


Compensation: Youth Council Members will be compensated with a $100/month stipend. Compensation includes travel and accommodation costs in relation to Board Member duties if required. Youth Council Members Members will be listed on our website and marketing materials.
