Justice for My Sister is offering FREE documentary filmmaking training for adults and youth. These multigenerational workshops are being produced in partnership with Los Angeles City’s Department of Cultural Affairs!

Requirements:

• There is no age limit to the program; both teens and adults may enroll. Youth between 13 and 18 years old must have written consent from a parent or guardian to partake in the program.

Spring 2026 class schedule:

Nuevas Novelas Filmmaking Intensives will take place on Tuesdays from 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM in Sylmar, CA

Series 1

• Tuesday May 19 - Day 1: The Role of Celebrities, Child Stars and Influencers  – documentary interview training

• Tuesday June 2 – Day 2: Editing

Series 2

• Tuesday June 9 – Day 1: Oral History

• Tuesday June 16 –  Day 2: Editing

The Nuevas Novelas final screening and culminating event will take place on June 26.
